The first thing we did was start off by making the batter for our cakes, we made three round ones, while those were baking we made the buttercream for the cake. We made multiple batches of buttercream that were white and purple. Once the cakes were done along with the buttercream we let the cakes cool down and the next day we started to assemble the cake. We started off by having one of the cakes as our base then layered our purple buttercream on and then proceeded to do the same steps with the two other pieces making sure it was all level. When we did the layers we made sure to leave the top cake with no buttercream on it yet. We put white buttercream on and all around the cake for our Crumb coat. Once we finished that we began to decorate the cake, we put purple buttercream all around the cake making sure there were no gaps from the crumb coat. Once all the purple buttercream was layered on all smooth we then picked the pipe tip we wanted and then added details.
The three things that went well with our cake was our time management, the flavor, and our decorating along with putting the cake together.
Three things I would improve about our cake was we could have taken more time on decorating and could have added a few more details and colors, making the cake bigger, and using water when spreading the buttercream to make it more smooth.
Two things that I learned were how to decorate better with the piping bags and how to make the buttercream.
